More on Kramer's Racist Rant

The lawyer for the guys Michael Richards yelled racist taunts at says:

... Richards should meet McBride and Doss in front of a retired judge to acknowledge his behavior and to apologize to them" and allow the judge to decide on monetary compensation.

"It's not enough to say 'I'm sorry,'" she said.

She did not mention a specific figure, but pitched the idea as a way for the comic to avoid a lawsuit.

"Our clients were vulnerable," Allred said. "He went after them. He singled them out and he taunted them, and he did it in a closed room where they were captive."

A sincere apology is definitely in order. And Richards' career deserves to be ruined (or at least taken down quite a bit), which it very well may be. But money? I'm not so sure about that one.

Kramer Needs Help

Apparently, Michael Richards has hired "a public relations expert with deep contacts in the black community" to deal with the fallout from his racial tirade. Why on earth does he need PR help? What's wrong with people? Doesn't anybody know how to offer a sincere apology on their own?

$450,000 for Playing Video Games

It certainly didn't seem likely at the time that skateboarding and playing video games would be very lucrative. But the former took off long ago, and now gaming is coming along, too. At this point, it's kind of hard to criticize kids for goofing off, knowing that whatever frivolous activity they are engaging in might turn into a great career.
